Ramsey County regularly tests beaches for water quality during beach season, from June through August each year. Ramsey County uses the state E. coli water quality standard to identify water bodies that may be contaminated with fecal waste. Higher levels of E. coli in the water may or may not be accompanied by higher levels and an increased risk of harmful bacteria; varying survival rates of bacteria make is impossible to definitively state when these harmful bacteria are present. Two samples are taken from each Ramsey County beach weekly to test E. coli levels.

Data on the use of grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Saint Paul to replace deteriorating windows painted with lead-based paint.

Volume and type of pre-demolition hazardous waste removed from sites prior to their scheduled demolition. This could include asbestos, appliances, mercury containing devices, paint, solvents and other waste products. This is required for residential and commercial/industrial demolition projects.

Dataset showing census tracts by percent of families and individuals below various poverty thresholds. Data supports both the Metropolitan Council's working definition for areas of concentrated financial poverty and Ramsey County's working definition for areas of concentrated financial poverty.

Monthly estimates of labor force, employment and unemployment by county for the seven county metro area.

Lead poisoning causes many serious health problems for both children (including learning difficulties and behavioral issues) and adults (such as damage to kidneys and reproductive organs, and high blood pressure).

Younger children are especially at risk because their bodies absorb more lead as their brains are still developing. The most common source of lead exposure in a home is deteriorated lead-based paint and household dust containing lead. Less common sources can include contaminated drinking water and soil, keys, imported toys, spices, cosmetics, pottery and ceramics, and other consumer products

Dataset showing life expectancy at birth reflects the overall mortality level of the population. It summarizes the mortality pattern that prevails across all age groups - children and adolescents, adults and the elderly. Life expectancy is expressed as the average number of years that a newborn is expected to live if current mortality rates continue to apply.
